PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mold a light reflecting member having excellent image clarity (specular property), with which a state of a mold face of a cavity can be transferred on the surface of the light reflecting member faithfully even when an inorganic fiber-containing thermoplastic resin is used. SOLUTION: In molding a thermoplastic resin light reflecting member, a mold assembling body is used. The mold assembling body comprises molds 10 and 20 having a cavity 40 for molding a light reflecting member, an insert 30 made of glass or a ceramic which is arranged in the molds and has a thickness of 0.5-10mm, and a presser plate 32 which is arranged in the molds and presses the end part of the insert 30. A clearance between the insert 30 and the presser plate 32 has a thickness of 0.001-0.03mm and a pressing marginΔS of the presser plate 32 for the insert 30 is 0.1mm or more. The thermoplastic resin light reflecting member is molded by charging the cavity with a thermoplastic resin. |
