CODING COMPRESSOR FOR IMAGE SIGNAL AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a compression rate in the case of applying coding compression to an image signal without deteriorating image quality. SOLUTION: The device is made up of an image signal generating means B applying photoelectric conversion to a light from an object introduced from an optical system A and generating an image signal, a coding compression means C applying coding compression to the image signal generated by the image signal generating means B, and a compression control means E controlling a compression rate of the image signal coding compressed by the coding compression means C so as to be varied with a value detected from a detection means D. The coding compression is applied suitable for a state of the image by applying the coding compression to the image signal based on the state of the image to be picked up and the state change of the image thereby applying coding compression to the image with high image quality at a high compression rate.
