PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZING METHOD AND DEVICE IN PACKET SLOT PRIORITY PACKET TRANSPORT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the operation of the packet transport system generating a packet stream for carrying plural component signals. SOLUTION: A packet stream is divided into consecutive groups containing predetermined packet slots by a packet generator 10. Plural schedule list memories 20 are provided and each list is related to a packet slot in each group. The packet stream is selected by a scheduler 30 in response to an entry in the list relating to the packet slot and generated by giving data denoting a component signal to the packet slot. Contents of the plural schedule list memories 20 are updated by a microprocessor 50 based on a predetermined parameter.
