PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a soil conditioner which is easy to disperse, has high persist ence of the effect and useful as, e.g. a soil conditioner for horticulture and agriculture. SOLUTION: An antibacterial agent and/or a mildewproofing agent (e.g. antibacterial Hyceracoat (R), a product of SHIN-TO RE-SERAKKUSU K.K.) is dispersed in a biodegradable plastic (e.g. chemically synthesized polylactic acid resin) preferably having a particle diameter of 0.5-30mm. At first, microorganisms are killed by the effect of the antibacterial agent or mildewproofing agent on the surface of this soil conditioner. When the surface antibacterial properties disappear, bacteria in the soil serve to decompose the biodegradable plastic on the surface so that a new surface will appear and an antibaceterial effect will be revealed at the part. Finally, the biodegradable plastic will be reduced to soil. |
