PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance, the yield and production efficiency by reducing the amount of a tongue produced in the end parts of a material to be rolled in rolling of shapes having a web part and flange parts. SOLUTION: In the method by which a cast slab having a rough-shaped cross section or a cast slab having a rectangular cross section which is cast by a continuous casting method is cut into specified length with a cutting machine and, using the cast slab as a base stock, the shape consisting of the web part 41 and the flange parts 42 is manufactured in a rolling stage, before cutting, the width region of 20-80% in the cutting position of the part to which web reduction is applied in the rolling stage is pressed and reduced in the thickness direction of the web with a pair of press dies. |
