PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove gas to be removed at high adsorption rate regardless of the kinds of gas by forming a metal component-carrying active carbon which is carbonized and activated in the presence of a compound containing some of alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, and other specific metal elements into a sheet shape together with nonwoven fabric. SOLUTION: The air purifying agent 1 includes a metal component-carrying active carbon as a principal adsorption composition, and in this case, the metal component carrying active carbon is an active carbon which is carbonized and activated in the presence of metal components containing, in active carbon precursor, one or more kinds of metal elements selected from the group consisting of alkali metals such as Li, Na, K, Rb, alkaline earth metals such as Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, and Cu, Mn, Zn, Ni, and the amount of metal components carried by active carbon is in the range of, usually, 0.1-30wt.%. And the metal component carrying active carbon is formed into fibrous configuration to form the air purifying agent, which is fixed to a supporting frame 2 to form a filter for purifying air. |
