A relaxation inducing apparatus comprising a detector unit for detecting a biological information of a testee, a stimulator unit for imparting a stimulus to the testee, a relaxation level determining unit for determining a relaxation level by comparing a biological information value given by the detector unit with at least one predetermined relaxation criterion, and a stimulus control unit for controlling an amount of stimulus, which is imparted to the testee by the stimulator unit, so as to induce a relaxed condition of the testee depending upon the determined relaxation level. The relaxation inducing apparatus imparts an optimum amount of stimulus to the testee on the basis of a biological information on the testee, so that it is made possible to surely and smoothly induce relaxation.
