The device comprises two angle plates (50) boltable below the chin rest (8). They bolt onto a attachment (30) which is in turn fixed to a retainer (32) on the inner half of the instrument's under block (10). The angle plate's bearing area contour preferably corresponds to that of that face of the under block which faces it. This area is preferably triangular.
