A brake booster having automatic braking function having a solenoid coil(37), a valve mechanism(20) and a master cylinder(13a) is disclosed. The quantity of air entered through a inlet passage(21) of the valve mechanism(20) is controled in proportion to the current applied to the solenoid coil(37). The pressure generated in brake line from the master cylinder(13a) is controled by the control of back pressure due to the control of the air quantity. Thereby, automatic braking can be embodied and it is possible to simplify the structure of the booster and to reduce costs.
