PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the codec changeover method and the ATM multiple access trunk device in a mobile communication system in which a line block using a low speed voice code is more extended. SOLUTION: In this device, a codec which has been installed between a mobile communication subscriber exchange 12 and a mobile terminal equipment 10 in a conventional system is installed aside the exchange, and a codec 16 of a gate exchange 14 is in use and in the case of starting an additional service such as a catch-phone or the like, the codec 20 of a subscriber exchange 12 is selected. Thus, the service trunk of a conventional system is used without modification and a cost of a relay line is reduced. |
