A process for depositing the product of spinning in a centrifuge or vacuum spinning machine takes place by means of a spinning tube which moves back and forth in a main lift movement extending over the centrifuge (3) height. A subsidiary lift movement with a back and forth movement has a stroke length (T) and is superimposed on the main lift movement with stroke length (H). T is a fraction of H. Also claimed is apparatus for implementing the process where the centrifuge internal wall (9) is shaped like a cone with its region of smallest diameter in the centrifuge floor (5) where narrow sliver is fed in.
