New monoclonal antibodies specific for proteosomes

Production of monoclonal antibodies (MAb) against proteosomes (P) by cloned hybridomas comprises: (a) isolating (P) or their subunits from normal or malignant cells or from genetically altered cells (e.g. bacteria) that produce recombinant subunits; (b) immunising animals, especially mice, with the isolated material; (c) isolating lymphocytes and immortalising them by fusion with myeloma cells (or by other standard methods); (d) selecting immortalised cell clones; (e) testing these clones for production of MAb against (P) or subunits; (f) isolating selected cells, propagating them and recovering specific MAb. Also claimed is a MAb produced this way.
