The headrest has two parallel holding rods fitting in support tubes in the seat, holding a head cushion which can be turned. This has a cushion carrier and upholstery on it. There is a setting device to alter the position of the headrest in the event of a crash. The setting device (16) has a manual service member (21) to alter the setting position of the head cushion (11). The head cushion may be able to turn with the cushion carrier (13) on a transverse axis (15) fitted between the holding rods (12) of the support tubes (10).
