The display system includes a symbol display generator (10), a trace smoothing circuit (16) and an image memory (18,18'). The symbol generator provides the co-ordinates of successive traced points. The smoothing circuit is designed to calculate coefficients belonging to a trace for a group G of N x M point surrounding a point with co-ordinates (X,Y) after calculating coefficients belonging to the trace for another group (G') of N x M points for co-ordinates (X'Y') previously provided by the symbol generator. The system has a control circuit for sending to the image memory, coefficients uniquely belonging to the points of group (G') which do not belong to the group (G), as a function of the vector connecting the point (X',Y') to the point (X,Y). The coefficients belonging to the group G are calculated whilst taking into account the coefficients previously calculated for the point which are common to both groups G and G'. In memory of N x M cells, are preserved for the next calculation chain, the calculated coefficients belonging to group G. |
