The equipment comprises two two-wheeled kits either fitted to opposite sides of the vehicle or incorporated in its construction. Each kit has a fixed and a movable metallic casting coupled together by telescopic hydraulic jacks or air cushions (2) and recoil springs, or endless-thread screw pantographs (3). The wheels (4) are set at right angles to the road wheels and coated with rubber or similar material. They are immobilised by a magnetic or other brake until their reversible electric, hydraulic or pneumatic motors are energised.
