Process for the production of sodium fluoride and silica by a reaction of sodium silicofluoride and sodium hydroxide at an elevated temperature. Advantageously solid silicofluoride is added to a solution of the hydroxide, in a quantity of about 85 % of the stoichiometric ratio resulting in a precipitate of sodium fluoride followed by addition of the second part of the silicofluoride, precipitating further sodium fluoride and also silica. |
