<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating and sound absorbing material formed by covering the whole face of an inorganic fiber mat with synthetic resin films, and a method for manufacturing the heat insulating and sound absorbing material with excellent productivity without generating defective adhesion of the synthetic resin films. SOLUTION: Both side faces along top and rear faces and a long-side direction of an inorganic fiber mat 12 are covered with synthetic resin films 13 and 14. Both ends of the synthetic resin films 13 and 14 in its longitudinal direction are extended from both side faces of the short-side direction of the inorganic fiber mat 12 so as to cover also both side faces along the short-side direction of the inorganic fiber mat 12. To a part in the cross direction of the synthetic resin film 14, the inorganic fiber mat 12 and the synthetic resin films 13, 14 are partially adhered, and the synthetic resin films 13 and 14 are partially adhered to each other by an adhesive 15 coated along the longitudinal direction intermittently or continuously, so that air can flow at a non-adhered part.</p> |
