PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peeler capable of smoothly peeling the skin of fruits and vegetables with light force and preventing a blade tip from slipping on a surface by tilting the blade line of a cutter for a specified angle to a handle. SOLUTION: For this peeler 1, the lower end 31 of a long arcuate holder 3 is fixed to the tip of a bar-shaped handle 2 and the cutter 4 is pivotally supported swingably to the lower end 31 and an upper end 32. The blade line 41 of the cutter 4 is tilted at an angleθ1 to the handle 2 and it is desirable to be 5 deg.-20 deg.. In the case of peeling the skin of an object to be processed, when the cutter 4 is pressed to the surface of the object to be processed and the handle 2 is moved in a direction D1 , since the blade line 41 is tilted to the moving direction D1 , the blade tip naturally and easily cuts in the moving direction of the handle 2. Nevertheless, since the cutting direction of the blade tip is tilted at the angleθ1 to the direction C1 -C1 where the blade line 41 is turned to, the force P1 applied to fingers becomes smaller than the one in the case of a conventional peeler. Also, even in the case of a hard fruit or slippery skin, slipping hardly occurs and peeling is facilitated.
