The plug (11) has a locking lever (13) pivotable about a first bearing (21) and able to enter into guides (32) of the socket (12) with the aid of a second bearing (22). Both bearings are formed integrally on the lever.The first bearing has a bayonet-type connecting element (24) parallel to the plane of pivoting. This can be pushed into a recess (26) in a wall (16) of the plug at right angles to the plane. To lock the plug and socket together, this element is then rotated parallel to the plane into its operative position
