PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent for a sanitary cloth, which is soaked in the sanitary cloth such as a towel, a sanitary or a wet towel, comprising sodium bicarbonate formed of a natural salt and a fatty acid-based surfactant, etc., without using a synthetic surfactant and hardly causing damage to human bodies. SOLUTION: This detergent for a sanitary cloth comprises at least sodium bicarbonate, sodium sesquicarbonate, citric acid and a fatty acid-based surfactant. The sodium bicarbonate can be produced from a natural salt, and a sodium salt of a fatty acid or potassium salt of the fatty acid can be adopted as the fatty acid-based surfactant.
