<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stable electrification property for a long time and to decrease fog on the base or scattering of a toner by incorporating a magnetic powder having specified specific resistance by specified pts.wt. into a carrier. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic carrier consists of at least a thermoplastic resin, phthalate plasticizer and magnetic powder. The magnetic powder has >=1×10<5>Θ.cm specific resistance and is incorporated by 150-800 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the resin. By incorporating the magnetic powder by 150-800 pts.wt., preferably 250-500 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the resin, the magnetic holding force with a sleeve is increased. By using a magnetic powder having >=1×10<5>Ω.cm resistivity, characteristics such as mixing and stirring property of the carrier and a toner, transfer property of a magnetic brush, and sliding property of a magnetic brush can be improved, while sticking of the carrier on an image due to induced charges can be reduced.</p> |
