PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a large noise elimination effect without causing a fogged dynamic image. SOLUTION: The circuit is made up of a contour detection circuit 2 detecting a contour of an image input signal, a low pass filter 3, a median filter 4 and arithmetic circuits 5, 6, 7. The arithmetic circuits 5, 6, 7 add an output of the low pass filter 3 and an output of the median filter 4 in response to an output of the contour detection circuit 2 while changing each rate, and when a ratio of a contour signal to a noise level signal is high, the rate of the output of the median filter 4 is increased and when a ratio of the contour signal to the noise level signal is small, the rate of the output of the low pass filter 3 is increased. |
