LEAD JIG FOR CABLE INSTALLATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily guide the end of a power cable during cable installation work without use of a winch or wire rope for guiding the end of the power cable. SOLUTION: This lead jig 20 is installed on the end of a power cable of large size and heavy weight that is strung along rollers 5 in a tunnel 10 or the like. The lead jig is made of polyethylene and molded into columnar shape so that it can readily follow any bend. A twisted wire 20a equivalent to a conductor is placed in the center of a columnar member so that the same rigidity as of a power cable will be obtained. Further the lead jig is formed into a conical shape 20b and is tapered toward its end so that a constant stress will be exerted at any point.
