PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter and a color filter substrate having a light- shielding pattern in which the light-shielding pattern and color pixels are arranged without a space on the border part between them so that the filter can be used for a large screen and can be produced in a simple process in a short time at a low cost, and to provide the production method for these. SOLUTION: This color filter is produced by forming a transparent photoconductive layer 3 having photosensitivity and a light-shielding pattern 4 on a transparent supporting body 1 having a transparent conductive layer 2, and further forming color pixels 5-7 of plural colors on the photosensitive transparent photoconductive layer 3. In the light-shielding area 3a of the photosensitive transparent photoconductive layer 3, the light-shielding pattern is formed to be flush with the transparent photoconductive layer 3.
