<p>A process for the conversion or oxidation of hydrogen cyanide (HCN) in industrial gas streams, particularly regenerator flue gas from a fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit, using solid catalysts comprising carbonates and bicarbonates of Group IA, Group IIA, and Group IIIB elements, e.g., Na2CO3, NaHCO3, K2CO3, KHCO3, Rb2CO3, CaCO3, SrCO3, and La2(CO3)3 to convert the HCN to compounds, such as N2, NO, NH3, N2O, HNCO, CO, CO2, and H2O.</p> |
