摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject compound, having C=C bonds and Si-H bonds and further excellent heat resistance and a high strength by hydrogenating C≡C bonds in a silicon-containing polymeric compound having the C≡C bond and Si-H bond in the presence of a specific transition metal (compound). SOLUTION: This silicon-containing polymeric compound contains a recurring unit represented by formula II [R<1> is H, a 1-30C alkyl, alkenyl, phenyl, naphthyl, etc.; R<2> is a 1-30C alkylene, alkenylene, phenylene, naphthylene, a group in which aromatic groups are connected directly or through a cross-linking member, a group in which an aromatic group is directly connected to a 1-30C alkylene, alkenylene, etc., or through a cross-linking member such as methylene, isopropylidene, ether, carbonyl, sulfonyl or silanediyl, etc.; the groups may contain a substituent group; (n) is 0 or a positive integer of <=10]. The C≡C bonds in a silicon-containing polymeric compound containing a recurring unit represented by formula I are hydrogenated in the presence of a group VIII, IX or X transition metal (compound) of the Periodic Table to afford the objective silicon-containing polymeric compound containing the recurring unit represented by formula II.
