A METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING MERCURY FROM A WALL

Mercury is removed in a closed system from a wall (1, 2). In a closed space (3) created at one side of the wall a constant, first sub-atmospheric pressure is produced, and in a closed space (7) created at the other side of the wall a cyclic, second sub-atmospheric pressure and heat for vaporization of the mercury are produced. The relation between the two sub-atmospheric pressures is such that the vaporized mercury is gathered in the space (3) at the first side of the wall, wherefrom it is transported away.
