A cosmetic composition (I) for treating the hair comprises: (A) a reducing solution for waving the hair during a first treatment stage: and (B) an oxidising solution for neutralising solution (A) during a second treatment step. The novelty is that solution (A) contains, as well as at least one reducing agent, a mixture of at least three different dyes for dyeing the hair in all the desired colour.
