The bale press contains a pressing device (10,12), a binding device, an output device (14) and an electronic monitoring and/or control device (16) connected to conventional sensors which determine the absolute and/or relative loading of the working elements during formation of a bale. The controller is also connected to a device (18) and antenna (20) for determining the current geographical position of the machine, which is associated with the loading values. The absolute or relative loading value for a position is temporarily stored, the finished bale is weighed and a weight-related position loading value is determined for the crop.
