PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the on-screen display system which facilitates screen adjustment and simplifies circuit constitution by composing the system of a video signal incidence system, an on-screen signal incidence system, and a projection optical system which puts a video signal and an on-screen signal together and projects and displays an image on a screen. SOLUTION: The light from a light source 1 is made incident on a liquid crystal panel 2 for video signal display which can make a color display and then transmitted. The color video signal which is passed here is made incident on the projection optical system 4 and then enlarged and displayed on the screen 11. The light from th light source 1 after being reflected by reflecting mirrors 5 and 6, on the other hand, is made incident on a liquid crystal panel 3 for on-screen display and passed here. Consequently, on-screen information is converted into a light signal, which is reflected by total reflecting mirrors 7 and 8 and made incident on the projection optical system 4, so that the signal is enlarged and displayed on the screen 11. Light signals which are generated by two kind of systems, i.e., the liquid crystal panel 2 for video signal display and liquid crystal panel 3 for on-screen display are put together on the screen 11 and displayed. |
