Device for fastening a fuel injector to an internal combustion engine cylinder head

The assembly is designed to hold the injector (1) in a cylindrical recess (2b) in the engine cylinder head. The assembly consists of a retaining member (3) in the shape of a yoke. The retaining member is fixed to the cylinder head by two screws (5) passing at right angles through the cylinder head face. The screws have inner projections (3a) to engage with diametrically-opposite thrust zones in the injector body. The thrust zones are located in an annular recess (6) in the body of the injector. The projections can be linked to form a ring fitting into the recess and equipped with an elastic metal seal member.
