PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure superior repetitive characteristics, a long service life and high stability as well as superior performance (highγ) to digital light input by dispersing phthalocyanine in a specified bonding resin. SOLUTION: A photosensitive layer contg. titanyl phthalocyanine dispersed in a bonding resin is formed on an electrically conductive substrate. The resultant photoreceptor has threshold value in its light attenuation curve and the bonding resin is polyester resin having 40-70mgKOH/g acid value. Highγis not ensured in the case of an excessively low acid value and electrification ability is deteriorated in the case of an excessively high acid value. The phthalocyanine is preferably crystalline titanyl phthalocyanine having peaks at 9.5 deg., 24.1 deg. and 27.3 deg. Bragg angles (2θ±0.2 deg.) in its X-ray diffraction spectrum. This photoreceptor has a specific flow of photoelectric power to light input and can output light as a digital signal whether the light is analogue or digital.
