PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject fluorescent substance free from thickening when dispersed in a carboxyl group-containing resin, excellent in storage stability useful for a flat display element by surface treating the surface of the fluorescent substance with a resin. SOLUTION: This surface treated fluorescent substance is obtained by putting a resin (e.g. polymethylmethacrylate, etc.) in to a flask, adding a solvent such as xylene, etc., adding a fluorescent substance [e.g.; ZnO:Zn (green) etc.] and glass beads (2mm of diameter) after dissolving the polymer, agitating with a mechanical stirrer for 5min, removing the glass beads by filtration, transferring the filtered solution into a distillation flask and removing the solvent under reduced pressure. Thus obtained objective surface treated fluorescent substance is free from thickening when dispersed in a carboxyl group containing resin and is excellent in storage stability. This fluorescent substance is mixed with a photosensitive resin, cross-linking agent, a sensitizer, a solvent and a tacky agent to give a photosensitive resin composition and a photosensitive film for flat display element is obtained by uniformly applying this composition on a polyethylene terephthalate film. |
