PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image free from a pinhole. SOLUTION: In a novel positive acting thermal image forming medium and an image forming method using the same, the thermoplastic image forming medium contains a transparnet support, a layer (1) containing a homopolymer or copolymer containing at least 60mol% of a monomer unit containing covalently bonded chlorine, a layer (2) containing a homopolymer or copolymer containing at least 50mol% of a vinyl acetal monomer unit, an image forming layer (3), a release layer (4) and a thermal adhesive layer (5). A cover sheet is laminated on the layer (5) after or before the exposure to the heat pattern directly formed by a thermal head or indirectly formed by the exposure to laser beam according to data. After the separation of layers, a positive image is obtained on the original support. |
