PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wear-resistant member, inexpensive in the base body, high in the adhesive strength between the base body and the rigid carbon film thereon, and also sufficient in slidability. SOLUTION: This highly wear-resistant member is obtained by coating the surface of a base body 1 consisting of austenite-based stainless steel composed of Fe, Cr and Ni with a rigid carbon film 3 via an intermediate layer 2 containing at least diamond and metal-carbide(s) so as to accomplish high adhesiveness between the base body and the rigid carbon film. In this case, the surface roughness (Rmax) of the rigid carbon film is <=2μm, and the metal carbide(s) 5 in the intermediate layer 2 includes silicon carbide, and also, the Raman spectroscopy of the rigid carbon film 3 gives a peak at 1160±40cm<-1> . |
