Crystallised honey is processed to give it a smooth and creamy consistency by rubbing it at high speed against a metal panel with oblong holes (2). The honey is cold-processed, with no additional source of heat, in a housing with a feed hopper (1), the metal panel, and an inner multi-bladed rotor on a horizontal shaft (3), with a container (4) beneath the housing to collect the processed honey. The metal panel may be detachable, so it can be replaced by one having holes of other sizes for honey of a different quality or consistency. The rotor lies concentrically with the panel, and its blades lie at a tangent to the inner surface of the panel as they rotate. The receiving container (4) can have an auger to facilitate extraction. |
