The process involves holding the wire (2) in front (5) and rear (6) insertion grips. The distance separating the rear of the terminal (3) and the rear insertion grips is fixed slightly greater than the travel of the rear insertion grips which is required to insert the terminal in the connector in the second stage. A play of 1 mm prevents abutment between the grips and the terminal. When the terminal butts the connector casing in the second stage, the wire forms a buckle between the rear of the terminal and the rear grips to ensure a buffer against overload. The grips are operated by jacks exerting 3 kgf and 5 kgf on respective front and rear grips. |
