PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a propolis composition in a good yield, having an excellent dispersing property to water and a good stability, and to provide a method for producing the propolis composition. SOLUTION: This propolis composition contains the propolis extract and a saponin. This saponin is a quillaja saponin, a soybean saponin or a carrot saponin. The composition is allowed to contain a sugar, a sugar alcohol or a branched cyclodextrin. Also, the propolis composition is produced by extracting active components in a raw material of the propolis after adding the saponin and an extracting solvent to the raw material of the propolis. Further, the propolis composition containing a low content of ethanol or not containing ethanol is obtained by concentrating the composition containing the propolis extract and ethanol after adding the saponin, the saponin and the sugar, the sugar alcohol or the branched cyclodextrin. |
