PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound useful for treating and preventing a neurodegeneration disease such as Alzheimer's disease, etc., a cerebral function disorder such as cerebral infarction, etc., or improving convalescence due to possession of excellent suppressing action on neurodegeneration and low toxicity. SOLUTION: This compound is shown by formula I [Ar is a (substituted) aromatic group; Q is a bifunctional aliphatic hydrocarbon group; R<1> is H, CN, a (substituted) hydrocarbon group (X) or a group of formula II (R<3> and R<4> are each H, an acyl or X and R<3> and R<4> may form a ring with an adjoining N); R<2> is an acyl; (m) is 1 or 2; a wavy line part is a single bond or a double bond] or its salt such as O-acetyl-6-(4-methoxyphenyl)-6-(3-methyl-1,4- naphthoquinon-2-yl)hexanohydroxamic acid. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a compound of formula III with a compound of the formula Y-R<2> (Y is an eliminable group). |
