PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sensitive material capable of processing under low replenishment and low discharge, excellent in sharpness, causing no unevenness in processing and less liable to the lowering of color density even in color development after storage in an unexposed state in an environment at high humidity by incorporating a specified compd. into a photographic constituent layer. SOLUTION: This sensitive material contains a reducing agent for coloring or its precursor and a coupler in one of the photographic constituent layers and contains at least one kind of compd. represented by formula I and/or at least one kind of compd. represented by formula II in one of the layers. In the formula I, each of R<1> and R<3> is an electron withdrawing group having a Hammett's substituent constantσp of >=0.3, each of R<2> and R<4> is alkyl or aryl, each of L<1> -L<5> is methine and M<1> is H or an atomic group or a metallic atom which turns into a monovalent cation. In the formula II, each of R1 -R4 is H or a substituent, the total atomic weight of one of (R1 +R3 ) and (R2 +R4 ) is <=160, (n) is 0-2 and M is H, an atomic group which turns into a monovalent cation or an alkali metal.
