PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a transition quickly from powering to regeneration and from regeneration to powering while minimizing the steady and transient losses. SOLUTION: The controller for induction motor comprises a section 11 for operating steady loss minimum flux, a section 12 for operating a target flux, a section 13 for operating an exciting current, a section 15 for operating a torque current, a section 16 for operating a slip frequency, a section 17 for operating the r.p.m. of a motor, and an integrating section 18, wherein a current command value is calculated depending on a torque command value and the rotational speed of an induction motor which is then driven with a polyphase AC current corresponding to the current command. The controller for induction motor further comprises a section 30 for detecting variation in the polarity of torque command Te' to output a polarity variation timing signal Cp, and a section 31 for resetting the transfer function upon receiving a reset signal, i.e., the polarity variation timing signal Cp, and bringing the output, i.e., a target torque Tm, to 0. |
