Economical refurbishment of photovoltaic solar modules

This novel method refurbishes defective solar modules (SM) having a laminated structure (9) which includes a substrate (1). In the new process, the latter is delaminated, with the help of a water jet (11). Preferably, the jet (11) is directed at an acute angle ( alpha ), no greater than 45 deg , against the laminate structure (9). A jet pressure of 200-600 bar is employed, and the nozzle (10) opening angle is no more than 30 deg , whilst its diameter is 1-5 mm. During delamination, the nozzle rotates about an axis approximately perpendicular to the solar module. The nozzle opening is rectangular or rounded.
