发明名称 Machine de ponçage convertible à rouleaux ou à courroies abrasives
摘要 1,090,420. Surface finishing. CLAIR MANUFACTURING CO. Inc. Nov. 13, 1964, No. 46279/64. Heading B3D. a convertible machine can be arranged as (a) An abrasive finishing roll machine in which the finishing roll reciprocates axially; or (b) an abrasive belt machine in which the finishing roll is replaced by a belt support drum for driving an abrasive belt which is also arranged over an idler roll disposed in parallel with the belt support drum, means being provided for oscillating the idler roll about an axis normal to the axis of the support drum for causing reciprocation of the belt in a direction which is axial with respect to the support drum; the convertible machine having means for conveying workpieces past the finishing roll or the abrasive belt and means for selectively controlling the reciprocation of the finishing roll or the oscillation of the idler roll. Pedestals 12, 14 supported by a base 10 mount bearing blocks 15, 15, 16, 16 carrying hollow stub shafts 17, 18. Axial movement of the shafts 17, 18 is prevented by collars 23, and the shaft 18 is driven through V-belts 36 by a motor. The shaft 17 carries at its inner end a flexible coupling face plate 24 the opposed face plate 26 being pinned at 29 to a spindle. 27 supporting a buffing or like roll 20 or to a spindle 28 supporting an abrasive belt support drum 22 the other end of the spindle 27 or 28 carries a flexible coupling face plate 30 the opposed face plate 32 being carried by the stub shaft 18. A cylinder 44 is carried by the stub shaft 18 and the rod 40 of a piston 46 reciprocated thereon by compressed air extends through the stub shaft 18 and is connected by a pin 42 to the spindle 27. A control rod 56 connected by the pin 29 to the spindle 27 extends through the stub shaft 17 and is provided with an electrically conducting ring 60 co-operating with paired contact brushes 64, 66 to cause alternate energization of solenoids 202, 204 actuating distributing valve means for the cylinder 44 to effect automatic reversal. The work 101 is fed through the machine by a conveyer belt 80 the upper run of which is supported by the top plate 70 of a table. The conveyer is driven by an electric motor 84. The table is supported by the piston rod 97 of a pneumatic cylinder 90. The cylinder has a screw-threaded post 92 engaged by a nut bearing 94 rotatable through worm gearing by a hand wheel 96, whereby the cylinder can be vertically adjusted. The supply of compressed air to the cylinder is controlled by a treadle valve 102. The table is stabilized by telescopic units 100, 100. The work is held down on to the conveyer by rolls 104, 106 mounted on spindles 107, 108 journalled at their opposite ends in spherical bearing blocks carried by struts. The struts are urged downwardly in sleeves by springs 118. The sleeves are vertically adjustable on the conveyer table. For operation as an abrasive belt machine, the roll 20 is replaced by a support drum 22 around which and an idler roll 132 is passed an abrasive belt 130. The idler roll is carried by a platform 136 centrally supported by a post 138 rotatable and slidable in a pedestal 140 integral with an arm 142 having a bottom flange 144 bolted to the top plate 147 of a bracket 147 having side legs 148 secured by screws 149 to the pedestal 14. A compressed air supply conduit 143 connects into the space below the post 138 for control of its upward thrust which tensions the abrasive belt. To effect axial reciprocation of the abrasive belt 130 the platform 136 is oscillated about its vertical support axis. An arm 150 projecting from the platform is pivotally connected to the piston rod of an air cylinder 154 mounted by a bracket 156 and an arm 157 on the pedestal 140. Adjustable stops limit the travel of the piston. A cup-shaped paddle 160 is carried by an arm 162 pivoted at 163 on the bracket 156; a spring in the pivot urges the paddle to its normal position. A jet 164 supplied by a compressed air conduit 166 directs a blast toward the paddle. When the belt is at one end of its axial travel it shields the paddle from the blast; when the belt is at the other end of its axial travel the paddle is moved by the blast. The resultant movement of the arm 162 actuates a switch 168 alternately energizing solenoids actuating distributing valve means for the cylinder 154 to effect automatic reversal. When selector switch 200 is in " ROLL " position power is supplied to effect reciprocation of the roll 20. When selector switch 200 is in " BELT " position, compressed air is supplied through conduit and the circuit to the switch 168 is made to effect reciprocation of the belt 130.
