PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a highly durable toothed belt almost free from the chipping of teeth for a time of use. SOLUTION: After covering the outer periphery of a core mold 15 with a rubber plate kneaded with a vulcanizing agent, a core wire is wound around the rubber plate, and further, a cylindrically sewed canvass is deposited on the core wire. Next, pressure molding and vulcanization are performed using a split cylindrical outer mold 17. In addition, a tooth shape is formed on the inner peripheral face of the outer mold 17, and during a pressing step, part of the rubber plate finds its way into the internal tooth shape of the outer mold 17 through the windings, and the residual part of the rubber plate forms a back rubber. After that, the outer mold 17 is opened, then a cylindrical molding is drawn out of the core mold 15, and is out to a specified width. A timing belt is completed by reversing the molding thus out. |
