PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive newest data addressed to the user timely by activating a power supply of a radio section at a period set in advance by the user. SOLUTION: A radio section 52 of a radio communication equipment 5 sends/ receives a radio wave to/from a radio base station 3 via an antenna 51. The control section 53 conducts all sequence control in its own radio communication equipment 5 including the radio section 52. A memory 54 stores various processing programs executed by the control section 53. A key entry section 55 is used by the user to set a time to a timer in a power supply control section 58 through a control section 53. A display section 56 displays a message addressed to its own radio communication equipment 5 received by the radio section 52 from the radio base station 3. The power supply control section 58 controls supply of power to the control section 53 by using a backup battery 57 when the timer expires.
