Vibrating trough for separating flow of mushroom-shaped workpieces

The trough has a central slot along its full length to accept the shafts of an unordered flow of mushroom-shaped workpieces. Its sides fall pref. at 30 deg to 50 deg transversely towards the central slot to form a Y-shape to support the head of the workpiece. The trough has at least one inclined section(15,16) falling at between 15 deg and 30 deg with a possible section rising at 1 deg to 5 deg . The workpieces are vibrated in small steps along the length of the trough which become longer for the same impulse in the falling inclined sections. The workpieces become separated at a constant distance from one another by their passage through the falling sections after being stored up at the rising section.
