Further, since the repeating amplitude (magnitude) of the reproducing waveforms is proportional to the varying sizes of the ruggedness of the magnetic tape surface 1, differences as shown on the right side in the Fig. arise in the reproducing waveforms of the magnetic tape (a) and the magnetic tape (b). The reproducing waveforms are flattened in the case of the absence of the ruggedness.
