PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the multimedia communication system in which various special reproduction and special display are attained without increasing a scale of a head end device. SOLUTION: Multimedia data received via a tuner 4 and a signal processing section 5 are stored in a video data buffer 6, decoded sequentially into a video signal by a video data decoding section 7, and reproduced and outputted to a monitor 10. A communication section 3 sends a data transmission stop request to a head end device in response to a special reproduction command from an input section 2 by the user, data stored in the video data buffer 6 are reproduced by the video data decoding section 7 and a transmission request of a prescribed amount of multimedia data is sent to the head end device in response to residual amount in the buffer. |
