PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flux cored wire for self-shielded arc welding which is capable of welding relatively thin plate materials, etc., and has good welding workability, such as all position welding and spatter and the good toughness of weld metal. SOLUTION: The flux of this flux cared wire for self-shielded arc welding contains, by the total weight of the wire, 2.0 to 2.8wt.% Al, 0.4 to 2.0wt.% Mg, 0.7 to 1.8wt.% metal fluoride in total content in terms of F, 0.1 to 1.5wt.% Li ferrite and <=0.25wt.% metal carbonate in total content in terms of CO2 . |
