PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a granular nonionic detergent composition prevented in the deterioration of solubility and washability by adding a mineral clay to a nonionic surfactant, adding porous inorganic oxide particles to the mixture, and subsequently grinding the mixture to form the granules. SOLUTION: (a) 10-50wt.% of a nonionic surfactant, (b) 0.2-20wt.% of porous inorganic oxide particles having a SiO2 content of >=50wt.% and an average particle diameter of <=20μm, and (c) 0.1-25wt.% of a clays mineral having an oil-absorbing ability of <=75ml/100g are used. (a) The nonionic surfactant is dispersed and mixed with (c) the clay mineral, and the obtained mixture is homogeneously kneaded and mixed with (b) the porous inorganic oxide particles. The produced solid detergent is ground into the particulate or granular detergent to produce the granular nonionic detergent composition.
